Why do businesses need to be on social media?
Here’s a bold statement for you. If your business isn’t on social media, it’s pretty much invisible to the real world. Social media isn’t something to argue about anymore, social media is an absolute must. You need to be online. People look everything online, and if they’re looking, you gotta be in there to be found.
Now…
What you don’t have to do is, start something, get overwhelmed and burned out with all of what “you should” be doing, and then give up because “it’s not working.”
You should be on social media, yes. No, you don’t have to be on every platform. You should post consistently, yes. No, you don’t have to post every day. You have to mention your services, yes. No, you shouldn’t try to sell with every post.
Above all, you should do what feels comfortable to you. And don’t confuse hard work with “uncomfortable”. Some things are hard, but they aren’t uncomfortable. Posting on social media can be hard, but it shouldn’t feel uncomfortable.
What’s the best way to use social media for business?
Create with purpose. Post with meaning. Connect with emotion.
And if you do so, it will never feel uncomfortable. Use social media as the connecting point between you and your audience, and use your website as the 2nd level to that building relationship.
If social media will be the first point of contact, visiting your website should be the second, working with you should be the third. One of the mistakes we see people making is trying to ONLY sell from their social media accounts. Why is that a mistake? Some people aren’t ready to buy just yet, some people will want and need to know a little bit more.
For those, we gotta give them more.
So, here’s our plan for you.
Create and share content that resonates with your audience’s struggles, create content and share content that helps them move past those struggles. Show them that you care and that you have the right solution for them. And then, show them that you can go above and beyond by leading them to your website, where they’ll find: More in-depth content; past client results and kickass testimonials; and even a value-packed freebie!
If I was interested enough in someone’s offer to the point I’d look into their website and then get presented with all that, I’d reach out for sure! Wouldn’t you?
All this is to show you a simple and effective sales funnel.
Your ideal clients get in touch with your social media content that resonates and meaningfully helps them with their struggles and biggest desires.
You lead them to your website that gives them all of the mentioned above and much more. More in-depth content and proof of past clients’ results and proof that people are more than happy to refer you to the world!
As part of that in-depth content, they’ll find a freebie so they can get that last added proof you can truly help them succeed in their journey. Our friend Lindsey at BurdaMarketing will tell you all about capturing leads with the perfect freebie.
Do this right, and you’ll get the right people reaching out to you.
Hey, if it works for us, it will work for you…
