The initial brand discovery, often described as brand strategy – even though that’s a much more complex process – is essentially composed of a series of strategic questions and exercises, that will make the business and brand owner, aka you, think about foundational concepts.
So before you decide to get that new logo, hire someone to build your website, or get someone to handle your Instagram…
Ask yourself these questions:
1. What’s your brand and business core idea?
Define the one idea behind what you want to do. What you want to achieve.
2. What does it mean to you? Why now? What’s motivating you?
Define why this adventure is important to you. Write down what your motivations are.
3. What do you do? What do you sell? For who?
Now it’s time to get technical. Write down exactly what you have to offer. What you have to sell.
4. What problem do you solve? What transformation are you offering?
Get clear on what happens from working or buying from you. We need to fully and clearly explain the end result. The transformation that will happen from our collaboration has to be clear.
5. What is it like to work or to buy from you? How do you come across?
When you’re finally clear about the previous steps – it’s time to infuse your personality into all this. Humans connect with humans. Don’t be afraid to show who you are.
The answers that you’ll gather out of these 5 steps, will fuel and unlock your thought process into defining and building your brand.
You’ll also be a few steps further into shining light on what the people helping you build your brand need from you.
Think about these questions, and send us your answers – we’d love to hear from you!
